Meet My Mentor! Scott Robert Workshops World Tour: Chicago 7.20.2011

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you may have noticed over the past year that there have been several posts about a photographer who has become very dear to my heart (and important to my art and business!).  I’ve made the decision to dedicate my education budget (and you should have one!) to...

marni finder - I am always too late for fantastic workshops that I find out about after the fact…. Do you know if any other ‘Scott Robert World Tour: Chicago One-Day Workshop’ will be up and coming in the future? I don’t mind driving farther away if it isn’t in Chicago. I live in the Chicago suburbs and I am practicing at my passion for photography every day. I like almost anyone into photography wants to IMPROVE. I am hoping to find the perfect workshop or mentoring situation to help push me to another level. Do you ever mentor, Mandie? I love the work that you do at your Red Gecko Studio. Just thought I’d ask…. Thanks, Marni Finder (if you take a gander on facebook at my name ‘marni finder’… you can see some of the work that I have been shooting…. and you can see that I need someone to guide me…. )

Mandie Haberman - We are planning to shoot on our own on the 21st, though!

Mandie Haberman - Aaaah, Riz, I wish we could add more days! Scott will be in town with his family, though, so we can only steal him for one day.

Riz Crescini - What?!? My beloved city and it’s only 1 day?!? You add the 21st and 22nd and I’ll be there for sure! :)

I Am Not “Lucky” :: Adventures as an International Photographer

Model in Paris with pigeons by Wisconsin International photographer

It’s April 7 and I’ve had a few days to unwind and collect myself after returning home from two of the most amazing weeks of my life.  My 14 days in Amsterdam and Paris rank right up there with my wedding day and honeymoon.  As I considered the blog posts I would unleash unto the...

Natalie - 100% agree! Great post! Alex and I just returned from 14 days in Italy doing photography, expanding our portfolio. Many people responded the same way and i just kept thinking… It has nothing to do with luck!!! We both worked hard to and made the trip happen. Luck had absolutely nothing to do with it. Anyone can go to Italy, really :)

A Scott Robert Thank You & The Eiffel Tower, Paris 2011

Eiffel Tower, Paris

I spent my last day in Paris sitting on a bench in a park near the Louvre.  To my right, I saw the Eiffel Tower in the distance.  To the left, the Louvre museum buzzed with Sunday activity.  I soaked in my surroundings and fell in love with my life yet again. My week in...

JeZa Photography (Zabrina) - WOW Mandie, thank you so much for your sharing to wrap up Scott’s NYC workshop. The camera necklace you have will be your reminder of this wonderful NYC Workshop experience. It is my regret that I didn’t get to invest more time to get to know you better. But like Junshien mentioned, if you ever come to SF, we would love to have you in our SF workshop and we’ll happy to show you around. Thank you for being so open to share your after thoughts about the workshop. Really touched my heart to read your story.

Love,
Zabrina

Evan - Mandie, I can’t explain in words, especially as fluid as you did, my experience at the workshop, but I know that it was life changing. I’m convinced that our paths crossed for a purpose greater than we see on the surface and I hope that we stay in touch and remain great friends. Perhaps we will see each other at another Scott Robert workshop…maybe Paris. Your work is amazing and your personality is reflected in your work. Take care.

Ariane - Mandy, this post was soooo inspirational; I understand what you went through in terms of finding your vision. I am going through that right now. It’s so refreshing to know that our little community of empowered photographers are so supportive in helping us succeed and move forward. Your work is so beautiful to say the least. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us :) . Looking forward to reading more.

Junshien - Wow Mandie… thank you sooo much for opening up and sharing your heart with us. Keep running down this path you’re now on, and keep your eyes focused on the prize. As the euphoria fades, you’ll feel the subtle pull to go back to the way things were. Fight it, and continue to pursue your vision! All the best in what the future holds. :)
