I am beginning to realize that as I have grown as a journalistic photographer, my hunger for new experiences has grown along with me. I am the type of person who will try anything once. I don’t like to close doors on opportunities because they don’t fit into a certain box. I don’t like to limit myself. I love risks. I love challenges. But most of all, I love LOVE.
What I am learning is that my experiences photographing weddings have helped me develop skills that translate well to any fast-paced life event. From political protests to charity events to the birth of a newborn baby, these events are where I am given the opportunity to document LOVE in new ways. When my friend David (who is an amazing lawyer, if you ever have the need!) asked me if I had ever photographed a Bar Mitzvah, I honestly told him I had not. When he described the event in detail, though, I knew I could handle it. I was so very excited when he hired me!
Robert’s Bar Mitzvah was an amazing experience. Not only is Robert one of the most intelligent and impressive twelve-year-olds I have met in a while, but his family is so full of love. My very favorite part of the day was watching David interact with his son. His pride and love for Robert was genuine and tangible. Thank you to David, Robert, and the rest of the family for allowing me to be a part of this momentous day!
If you are interested in photography services for your son or daughter’s upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah, please contact me for a customized quote. I am happy to provide photography for these events in the future and would love to discuss the options with you!
