Jackie & Mark’s Vintage Hollywood Wedding – Milwaukee Oriental Theater & Tripoli Center

Nine-Ten-Eleven.

It was THE most popular wedding date of the year.  I heard that the Madison Capitol building was just SWARMING with wedding parties, and I smiled to myself because I got to shoot in Milwaukee.  Not just any old church and hotel banquet room, either- I got to shoot at the absolutely unique Oriental Theater and the Tripoli Shrine Center.  Not only were these brand new venues to me, but they were a perfect fit for Mark & Jackie’s vintage Hollywood theme.  I have never seen a couple pull off a theme with such perfection!  From perfectly vintage attire (complete with top-hats, canes, elbow gloves, and birdcage veils!) to appropriate music selections to serving pop-corn as the cocktail hour snack, these two created a stunning soiree.  And to boot, they were ridiculously fun to work with!

One thing I love about movie theater weddings is the marquee.  When else do you get to see your name in big letters like this?!

Jackie’s dress was custom made for her, along with her mother’s dress.  I do love this shot, but I must say- it does no justice to this gown and how perfect it was on Jackie!  Some gowns just cannot be envisioned properly until they are on the bride.

Mark & Jackie know how much I love shoe shots, so they made sure the shoes were FAB-U-LOUS.  Gorgeous!

Instead of walking down the aisle, the bride & groom walked in from the wings of the stage.  It was cute!

There were several impromptu dips throughout the day, including this finale to the kiss!

We had about a half hour between the end of the ceremony and that afternoon’s matinee, and believe me- we made use of that half hour!

LOVED the feathers & the glitz & glam…

This is by far one of my favorite shots of the day.  Those guys with their top-hats & canes looked so fantastic.

Shortly before we hit this alley, Mark had spotted another wedding party and taunted them.  Whaddya know, that party was toolin’ around town with one of my most favorite Milwaukee wedding photographers- Amanda from Type A Images!  So of course, what else would we do- we challenged their wedding party to a West-Side-Story-inspired alley brawl.  Clearly, my party won, don’t you think?

You can check out Amanda’s awesome shot of this scene on her blog.

This brave bridesmaid works for Cirque du Soleil, so I should not have been surprised when she climbed up there with no hesitation whatsoever.  LOVED it!

One of Crystal’s spectacular shots!

After sending the wedding party off to the bars in their own limo, the bride & groom headed over to the Pfister Hotel.  With their vintage theme, this was the absolute PERFECT spot for portraits!

I asked if I could post this one because I loved it so much…  Oooh la la!

This cake was STUNNING.  Gorgeous AND delicious, I assure you.  If you’re looking for a unique cake that does not disappoint your taste buds, definitely check out Fantasy Cakes in Milwaukee!

The two danced to one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies of all-time…  “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge!

Mark was made to dance by the DJ, to “earn” the garter…  And Jackie was a harsh critic, I tell ya!  Mark had the entire room in laughter as he danced his way to his bride.  TWICE.  It was fantastic.

To Jackie & Mark, thank you thank you THANK YOU for including me in your special day- it was wonderful.  Crystal & I really enjoyed your unique wedding!
