Living & working in Madison is a LOT of fun. I love Madison weddings. I love shooting at the Capitol, the Memorial Union, the Monona Terrace, Olbrich Gardens, etc etc- all the places that make Madison unique. So … you’d think this is a blog post about a Madison wedding, right? NOPE!
This wedding was literally a breath of fresh air. Beautiful, breezy, summery country air. Megan & Monty tied the knot at a gorgeous country house called Stony Hill Farm in Oregon, Wisconsin. The scenery was breathtaking, the details were perfect, and the ambiance was pure fun! It was a perfectly country affair. As much as I love my Madison weddings, this one was a very nice change of pace.
There was, however, one great part of the day that screamed “Madison”: the farmer’s market! The bride & groom got up VERY early on their wedding day and spent a couple of hours strolling around the Capitol Square downtown. They purchased flowers and vegetables for their decorations and appetizer station. I love that they supported local farmers.
These little gems were PERFECT.
Several hours later, Crystal & I drove up to a beautiful house overlooking a beautiful wheat field. Yes, I know I’m using the word “beautiful” far too much… But this was such a beautiful wedding!
Megan’s gown was custom-made for her by her friend Tommy- with surplus Vera Wang silk!
Rachel did a great job with the wedding ceremony. <3 It was filled with laughter AND tears!
I was lucky to capture this adorable candid shot as the excited newlyweds fled the ceremony scene.
Two words: Cake Pops. They made me VERY happy.
Warning: kissy-kissy overdose ahead.
This amazing sunset happened as all the guests picnicked on the lawn.
Since everyone was enjoying the view, we ventured into the wheat field.
They called this sweet little scene full of lanterns “Makeout Grove.”
Speeches were numerous and super sweet!
Fireworks went off as the couple enjoyed their first dance with the rest of the guests.
The awesome cover band got going just before we left- I am sure the party rocked long after we were gone!
Thank you Megan & Monty, for taking me out of my usual groove and throwing such a beautiful event.
Thanks to these amazing vendors, too, for giving me such gorgeous details to photograph!
