They say that rain is a sign of very good luck on your wedding day. Despite this, most brides worry about rain on their wedding day. Once the day arrives, though, your best bet is to go with the flow…whatever happens will happen (especially with the weather!), so why let anything out of your control upset your special day? Can I get an AMEN on that one?
Well, one couple who had this “go with the flow” attitude down pat enjoyed a beautiful wedding day last Saturday…despite gray skies and pouring rain. Congratulations to Sharon & Barry!Photojournalistic documentation was a very important part of photography for Sharon & Barry, so this post is filled with images of guests having fun and enjoying the day. I met these lovebirds not long ago for their engagement session back on Mother’s Day weekend. It was a perfect weekend for it, since a big part of their marriage celebration is their beautiful daughter Caroline. There are lots of cute images of her coming up- but first, the dress!
Sharon’s simple halter dress had gorgeous beading around the empire waist.
The flowers that Sharon chose were gorgeous, too- I just loved the color combination. A good friend of hers put the bouquets & boutonnieres together (she has her own business as a florist!) before attending the wedding as a guest.
Barry and his brothers looked smashing!
The rest of his guys weren’t too bad, either. Lovin’ the jazz hands!
This one just makes me laugh.
The camaraderie between men on a wedding day is such fun to witness!
Because of ominous clouds, we had limited time for portraits of the bride & groom.
However, I was pretty happy with the opportunities we did get!
The outside of St. Dennis Parish has an adorable little courtyard near the front door.
Cute little Caroline arrived and we whisked her away for some time with Mommy & Daddy.
The little look on her face as she stares up at her mommy & daddy is priceless!
Now, everyone, you know my affinity for shoe shots…I couldn’t resist a mommy & daughter shoe shot with Caroline’s adorable white patent shoes. Precious! And I loved Sharon’s shoes, too!
I love this shot, but must explain: Sharon is smiling at baby Caroline as she walks down the aisle to meet Barry at the altar. Aaaaaw!!!
Of course, shortly after the ceremony began little Caroline’s attention was a little restless. I had the chance to grab this shot of her out in the lobby and love it.
I was very impressed by the priest performing the ceremony. He did a beautiful job.
After a touching ceremony, Sharon & Barry are pronounced man & wife. Kiss!
The happy family!
Caroline was the hit of the party all day long.
The bouquets were GORGEOUS…in case I hadn’t mentioned that yet.
The peonies are the same color peonies we have in our backyard, and they added such an intense color pop! And can I quickly say that I think the polka-dot ribbon around the bridesmaids’ bouquets is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E?
My weddings are on an interesting streak lately. THREE of my four most recent weddings had no cake cutting at all! Sharon & Barry had these delicious-looking chocolate cupcakes set out as centerpieces for each table instead, YUM. I wonder how many of those cupcakes actually made it to dessert time!
This little blond boy was too cute all evening. He sure was confident with these tongs!
I’m a huge fan of all things scrap-booky, and the gift tags on this bag caught my eye. Love it!
Lucky little Caroline got the best dinner service of anyone!
Let the reception fun begin!
I have no idea what it was that these girls said to make Sharon crack up, but it had to be super funny.
LOVE this shot!
Come on, Baby, do the Locomotion!
There was a lot of dancing going on, and some of these dancers were quite impressive!
To Sharon & Barry: your family is beautiful. I’ve truly enjoyed being a part of your celebration and getting to know the three of you! I look forward to seeing more of little Caroline in the future as she gets cuter and cuter and cuter (if that’s possible). Congratulations on your wedding, your new home, and the wonderful life that lies ahead of you!
To Cammie, AKA Mom, it is always such fun to have you along.
