Brandy & Lee :: Married! Madison WI Wedding Photographer

In the midst of a busy busy week here at After Dark Education in Minneapolis, I’m super excited to FINALLY get Brandy & Lee’s blog post online!  This beautiful and happy pair of newlyweds are enjoying a honeymoon in Ireland, so I hope they find a few minutes to check this out.

Brandy & Lee’s wedding day was a beautifully sunny May Saturday.  It was perhaps a teeeeeeensy bit hot, but overall the weather was amazing in the beautiful Olbrich Gardens where their ceremony was held.  Despite a minor hiccup (we had to take a cab to the reception because my car batter was disconnected and I thought it was dead!), the day went smoothly and I’m thrilled with the images we created.

I love hanging out with the guys when there’s time!

We grabbed a fun ring shot on this chess king & queen…

Rocko is one of the cutest chihuahuas I’ve ever seen…

Lee was a GQ-caliber groom.

I am a psycho about scheduling.  I prefer to be somewhere 5-10 minutes early if not earlier, so we had some buffer time to stop by Studio Z on Monona Drive to visit the lovely Brandy and her girls.

Hi

The room where you get ready at Olbrich is large and provides nice opportunities for detail shots.

Groomsmen attempting to help one another with their bout’s always makes me giggle a little…

They did a great job with all kinds of little DIY details.

I heart touching groom + mom moments!

Great looking group of guys, wouldn’t ya say?

Although I’m not sure they hold a candle to the beauteous Brandy…

I love love LOVED Brandy’s gramma’s reaction to seeing her granddaughter all bride-ified!

And all the lovely ladies!!

The guys wait patiently for the ceremony to begin…

And the ladies come around the bend!

At last, arrival at the altar!

I was very impressed with their kiss!

These guys were a great-lookin’ wedding party!

We had A M A Z I N G light for portraits, even though it was a tad bright in spots.

These next two are a couple of my favorites!

Their wedding kiss was so sensational that I made them do it again.

Brandy & Lee’s cake was simple and elegant.

One of the major parts of Brandy & Lee’s lives together is travel.  I thought it was so cool that they themed their reception tables and centerpieces around the places they’ve been together!

Brandy & Lee danced to the song “At Last,” sang by Brandy’s sister and maid of honor.  It was super touching!

Dang, these two had the dip move DOWN!

This reception was a par-tay.  I definitely recommend hiring Jukebox Bandstand if you’re looking for a great DJ.  I’ve worked with these guys several times and they’re great!

To Brandy & Lee, thank you so much for including Red Gecko Studio as a part of your day!  We had a lovely time and can’t wait to show you all of our work from your beautiful wedding.  So glad you were both go-with-the-flow given the car drama!  (don’t worry, brides, the issue is fixed…)  Have a fantastic honeymoon!
